BIOGRAPHY

Justin is 32 years old and has been a competitive 165 lb. powerlifter for the past 10 years.  He began lifting weights at the age of 12 and currently trains at "Powerhouse Gym" in Elyria.  His personal best lifts of 490 lbs. - squat, 285 lbs. - bench and 530 - deadlift gave him the distinct honor of being invited to compete in the prestigious "Arnold Classic" where he finished 2nd in 2008 and 1st in 2010.

The current National and Ohio State Record Holder in the deadlift (530 lbs.) finished tied for 4th at the 2009 USAPL National Championships, but fell to 5th due to body weight.  In addition to his Outstanding record Nationally, Justin is a "Fan Favorite" in Ohio being inducted in Ohio's Premire Powerlifting Event, "The Battle of The Great Lakes" Hall of Fame in 2007.  Kyle Kanaga, Cousin of Gary Kanaga, says this of Justin Caputo, "He personifies the sport of powerlifting in Ohio.  I have been going to meets for 5 years and Justin's Intensity and Passion is amazing".

Justin works as a furnace operator at Concast Metals in Birmingham, Ohio.  Justin and his wife Melanie have been married for 10 years.  They have a 10 month old future powerlifter named Evan.  The Caputo's live in Lorain, Ohio.

Justin trains 3 days a week with a regiment of Russian and Eastern European Methods for squatting and deadlifting.  Justin says, "I compete to meet other lifters and help everybody out.  I've met a lot of great people over the years and watching other lifters, male or female, hit a PR is something that's very motivating and inspirational to me".
